The past 6 weeks have been huge for us at DCTA. We launched our grassroots advocacy portal, which will be one of our central tools for mobilizing crypto users around the country. We also had our first major events with a live AMA on /r/CryptoCurrency and a detailed profile on Politico. In addition, we’ve received overwhelming support from legislators, community members, and thought leaders across the space.
We have big plans for the next few months as the midterm elections get closer and crypto legislation heats up. Here’s a quick recap of everything we’ve been up to.
DCTA Legislative Advocacy Portal
We launched our grassroots advocacy portal at joindcta.org/advocacy where users can quickly:
- Look up all crypto-related legislation in your state
- Find your local, state, and federal representatives
- Write a form letter expressing your views on crypto
- Tweet at reps on social media and share coordinated campaigns
This tool will be the centerpiece as we roll out dedicated campaigns on specific crypto-related issues.
Events & Media
Reddit AMA
In mid-April we participated in one of the first live AMAs over at /r/CryptoCurrency. We had a great time getting to know and sharing ideas with some of the great folks in the community, and we look forward to more events in the future on /r/CryptoCurrency.
Government Outreach & Meetings
In April we took meetings with multiple legislative offices in California including the Pffice of Financial Technology and Innovation (OFTI), the Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI), and multiple state legislators who are either actively working on crypto legislation, or keen to learn more about the technology.
These meetings are the key behind-the-scenes work that help legislators understand the benefits crypto has to offer.

Make your voice heard as we draft formal DCTA policy opinions that will be sent to legislators. Our monthly policy roundtable call is an open forum for members to be heard and discuss crypto policy they would like to see implemented!
