Get Involved & Shape Crypto Regulations Today
The first important thing we can do is to let our elected representatives in Congress know that their constituents are aware of the cryptocurrency regulations being considered right now and that they are tracking the actions their representatives take.
Step 1 – Track Crypto Legislation in your State
(best viewed on desktop and with Javascript enabled)
Step 2 – Contact Your Legislators
Once you know what’s going on in your state, you can contact your local and federal elected officials. You can quickly look up your reps using this tool:
The email format for a member of the Senate or their staff is FIRSTNAME_LASTNAME@SENATORLASTNAME.senate.gov. The email format for a member of the House or their staff is FIRSTNAME.LASTNAME@mail.house.gov.
We’ve provided a sample script to give you an idea of what to say, but you should customize it with your own personal messaging along with comments on any active legislation in your state found in step 1.
Step 3 – Reach Out Online
Most people don’t realize this but almost every legislator has an intern that tracks all of their mentions on social media so they can try what topics constituents care about what their critics are saying and what their opponents are saying about them.
That’s why it’s important that after you call your Congressional Representatives Office in step 2 you also get online and “say hello” to them on Twitter.
Feel free to type out your own or you can use the sample language and hashtags below:
Hey @[insert candidate’s Twitter handle]: Will you work with @DCTAorg to ensure that digital currency regulations protect everday consumers like me and not private interests? #CryptoVotes #CryptoVotes2022 #DCTA
